Molise
Molise is romantic, bewitched and
is strangely reminiscent of certain parts of northern Europe, for
example places in Scotland and Ireland. This southern land could
well represent the background for a tragedy like Macbeth" by Guido
Piovene" from "Viaggio in Italia"
Molise is a not well-known land, is an uncontaminated land; a
concentrate of natural landscapes and traditions that guard the
enchantment of a land still to discover.
This Region offers an often lonely, but never sad, beauty of the
countrysides, offers profound silences which wrap its Matese
mountains and an incredible crystal-clear of the Adriatic Sea waters.
It is a surprisingly varied showcase despite the dimension of its
territory that preserves overbearing historical testimony,
archaeological finds dating back to the Samnite and Roman period; a
widespread remote architecture of medieval towns and rural lands
preserving an Arcadian and mystical atmosphere as pieces of evidence
of a living bound up to the past, reflected in traditions kept alive
over the centuries.
It is well worth getting to live in these places, meeting the people
who live there, steeping ourselves in a culture where guests are
treated nearly with reverence.
